Use the Precision Color Calibration wizard to calibrate the media for the proofer. For new installations, completing this task confirms that the printer is operational.

Requirements:

Note: The Precision Color Calibration wizard supports all media configurations created in previous versions of the software.

  1. In the proofer’s Proofer Viewer, click the Calibration button.
  2. Select the media configuration for the media that is loaded on the proofer, and click Calibrate.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps as they appear.
The wizard guides you through the calibration process.

Calibrated versus uncalibrated printing

For proofs that are not color-critical, you can use Kodak Proofing Software to print proofs without first calibrating the proofer for the media configuration. Uncalibrated proofers should not be used for color-critical proofs.

Note: If using Certified Process for Color Confirmation, the proofer must be calibrated for the media configuration that is used to print the proof, and the calibration must be current (that is, performed within the past seven days); otherwise, the proof will fail. For more information, see the Kodak Proofing Software user documentation (help).
