This method uses an Internet connection to automatically retrieve the license for the latest entitled version from the Product Registration and License Activation System (PLAS) and activate it in the software. 

Requirements:

• Internet connection
• License ID and entitlement information registered in PLAS

1. In Proofer Administrator, click the Controller icon, and click the License tab.
2. Click Retrieve License.
3. In the Add License Key dialog box, select Retrieve license.
4. Wait for a connection to be established with PLAS. The License ID and license request are automatically sent to PLAS.

5. Wait while a message displays the progress and then informs you whether the license was successfully retrieved.

6. When a message indicates that the Controller software successfully restarted, click OK.
7. After the restart, check the License tab to confirm the licensed upgrade features.

   • If license retrieval was successful, you can select the license key and review its list of features. This task is now complete.

   • If a license could not be retrieved, an alert symbol appears beside the Retrieve License button, and no features are listed.
     Contact a service representative for assistance in registering the entitlement in PLAS, and then either repeat the above procedure to automatically load the new license or use a manual method.

Manual Licensing Process

If your Kodak Proofing Software server cannot access PLAS or does not have access to the Internet, you will need to download a license file from a workstation or server that has Internet access.

• From the Add License Key dialogue box click on the Save Request button to save the Request File.
• Copy the XML file to another workstation that can access the PLAS server on the Internet. From that workstation connect to  https://plas.kodak.com/webservicesite/soap/CustomerLicenseWebService.asmx and use the tools on that page to upload the XML file.
• PLAS will generate a new XML file that you can use to license your Kodak Proofing Software server.
• Download and copy the new XML file to the Kodak Proofing Software server. 
• Launch the Add license Key dialogue box, make sure the info for the License ID and Partner Place username are entered correctly, click on the Load License button to load the XML file.
