You want to step and repeat a brochure to an imposition plan. To accomplish this, you need to use the Range window in the Assign Pages to Page Set Position dialog box to position pages as two-up.
Note: If you didn't complete Scenario 1, complete Tasks 1 and 2, before completing the following. Tasks 1 and 2 (of Scenario 1) contain preparatory steps required for all scenarios in this activity.
The following procedures describe how to complete this activity.
Note: Your instructor, service representative, or your system administrator will supply a user name and password, and tell you which server and Prinergy volume to use.
Add and refine an input file
- Right-click the Input Files pane and choose Add Input Files.
- In the Add Input Files dialog box, click the Job Folder button and locate:
UserDefinedFolders/Input Files/ Unified Workflow.pdf
. - Click the Add Selected button to add the file to the Files to Add list.
- In the Options section of the Add Input Files dialog box, select the Process Selected Files Using Process Template check box. Use the process template: Refine > Refine > 1stRef-Normz.
- In the Add Input Files dialog box, click OK.
- In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
Import an imposition plan
- Select the Signatures view.
- From the View menu, choose as Thumbnails.
- From the File menu, choose Import Imposition.
- In the Import Imposition dialog box, click the Job Folder button and locate:
UserDefinedFolders / Imposition / 8pWT_8.5x11_25x38.jdf
. - In the bottom left hand corner of the dialog box, select Create New Page Set.
- Click Import.
- In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
Step and repeat PDF pages to the imposition plan
- In the Pages pane (unassigned section), right-click
Unified Workflow.p1.pdf
and choose Select All Pages. - Right-click any selected PDF page and select Assign Page to Position.
- In the Assign Pages to Page Set Position dialog box:
- Select the Range option.
- In the Range window enter:
(1,3), (2,4), (5,7), (6,8)
- Click OK.
Note: This will step and repeat the pdf pages to position them as 2-up. For more information, see Prinergy Workshop Help: About Assigning Specific Positions to Pages.
Proof the imposed imposition
- In the Imposition Plans pane, right-click the imposition plan, and choose the process template: Imposition Output > Virtual Proof > Virtual Proof.Imposed.600.
- In the Start Process dialog box, click OK.
- In the Imposition Plans pane, right-click the imposition plan, and choose Open VPS files.
- At the completion of the proof process, quit Prinergy VPS.
- Close XX_Page_Set_Imposition Job Manager.
