The press model define the model of each press; offset or digital. The model consists of printing units and perfecting units.
You can either import a list of some of the most common press models from an xml file or add a new press model.
- In the top bar of the Console, click the Resources tab.
- On the Resources tab, select Press models.
- Click the Add new
button. - In the Add press model dialog box that appears on the right, leave the Id as is, and in the Label box, type
8 color sheet-fed with perfecting unit
. - (Optional) In the Description box, type
Sheet-fed offset press 8 color with perfecting unit
. - In the Method area, select Offset.
- In the Feed area, select Sheet.
- In the Units area, click the Add new
button and select Add perfecting unit.
Note: For a sheet-fed press, you should always start and end with two manual perfecting units for tumbling and turning. In between, you can define printing units and maybe an automatic perfecting unit.
- Make sure that the Flipping style of the Perfecting unit that was added is Turn and that the Manual check box is selected.
- Add another Perfecting unit and make sure that the Flipping style of the Perfecting unit that was added is Tumble and that the Manual check box is selected.
- Click Save.
A new press model was added.
