When you preview TIFF files, you can switch to layout mode and immediately place the previewed TIFF files on a new layout or an existing layout.

• If you decide to place the TIFF files on a new layout, the TIFF files are automatically arranged on the layout according to the default parameters of the Arrange dialog box, the selected layout preset, and the selected Layout preferences.
• If you decide to place the TIFF files on an existing layout, the TIFF files are added to the Unassigned Files list of the Inventory palette. Drag the file or files from the Unassigned Files box to the layout window.

To switch from Preview mode to Layout mode and place previewed files on a layout:

1. From the Modify menu, select Switch to Layout.
2. Select either New Layout or one of the listed layouts (open layouts and layout presets).
