Hot folders automate the workflow by automatically performing an action when files are dropped into them.
You can create two types of hot folders—hot folders that only add files to a job and hot folders that also start a process on the added files.
A hot folder that starts a process on the files has a process template linked to it. When you add files to the hot folder, Prinergy Workflow automatically processes the files as specified in the process template.

Some common uses of hot folders are:

• Importing job exports.
• Adding and refining input files. For example, if you write PostScript directly from desktop publishing software to an add-input-files-only hot folder, the files are automatically added to the job to which the hot folder is attached.
