The color of black ink is usually dark enough to hide underlying colors. In such cases, you can overprint black ink to reduce the number of traps that must be generated.

1. In PDF Trap Editor, select the Detailed view of the Trap Page or Trap Selection dialog box.
2. Click the Black tab.
3. Perform one of the following actions:
   • Select the Overprint all black filled objects and/or Overprint all black bitmaps check boxes to set black-filled objects and/or black bitmaps to overprint.
   • Clear the Overprint all black filled objects and/or Overprint all black bitmaps check boxes to return black-filled objects and/or black bitmaps to the status set in the creating software.
