Since the Prinergy server is a Windows-based computer, and Prinergy clients may run either the Mac OS or Windows operating systems, PDF files must be named to conform to both Mac OS and Windows standards.

When using the plug-in on a Mac or Windows-based computer, a valid file name:

• Is less than 32 characters long
• Does not contain the colon character :
• Does not contain control characters (that is, ASCII characters 1 through 31)
• Does not contain a period . as the first character
• Does not contain any of the characters: < > " | * : / \
• Is not a device name (such as: aux, con, lpt, com, prn)
