Upgrading the servers in a Prinergy Hot Standby system running on Windows 2012 R2 operating system with Double-Take 7.1

When upgrading the primary server running on Windows 2012 R2 operating system with Double-Take 7.1, perform the tasks listed in the specified order.

Note: This procedure needs to be completed only if you are upgrading from a version earlier than 7.5.0.

1. Disconnect the Prinergy DB replication job on the primary server:
   1. Open Double-Take Console: Go to Start > All Applications > Double-Take Console, or double-click Console UI.exe in C:\Program Files\Vision Solutions\Double-Take\Console.
   2. From the Go menu, select Manage Jobs.
   3. Right-click the AraxiDb job, and select Stop.
2. Upgrade the primary server.
3. Upgrade the secondary (failover) server.
4. Reconnect the PrinergyDB replication job:
   1. On the primary server, open Double-Take Console: Go to Start > All Applications > Double-Take Console, or double-click Console UI.exe in C:\Program Files\Vision Solutions\Double-Take\Console.
   2. From the Go menu, select Manage Jobs.
   3. Right-click the AraxiDb job, and select Start.
   4. Wait for the Activity to become Protecting and the Mirror Status to become Idle.
   5. Close or quit Double-Take Replication Console.

Note: After completing the upgrade of all servers, a failover test must be completed to ensure the hot standby support is working correctly.
