The Packaging Layout Automation software comes with a variety of marks originated in the Kodak Pandora packaging layout software, of which the description can be found in the Pandora User Guide.
The Marks tab displays the SmartMarks that are accessible by Packaging Layout Automation jobs. Packaging Layout Automation uses SmartMarks only.
Before you start using Packaging Layout Automation, point the Marks tab to your marks folder. See the Layout Automation Administration Guide for instructions.
A SmartMark is an intelligent mark that positions and resizes itself in relation to the object to which you anchor it: the substrate (press sheet), film, plate, or die. If you replace the substrate (press sheet), the mark repositions itself automatically.
You can edit SmartMark settings in Packaging Layout Automation, but you cannot create SmartMarks in Packaging Layout Automation. To create SmartMarks, you must use Pandora software. (See the Use Packaging Layout Automation: create SmartMarks and mark sets Activity).
You can create a Mark Set folder that contains a number of SmartMarks that you can apply to the jobs.
