Complete the migration process by migrating all remaining process templates that use Harmony curves.

The migration process uses a tool in Prinergy Administrator to perform process template migration after curves have been imported into ColorFlow. The tool switches the Curve Source to ColorFlow Current State, if both the Print Curve and Plate Curve have been imported into ColorFlow. It also makes those curves visible in the process template Print Curve and Plate Curve selection lists. The migration process does not disrupt production or change printed results.

  1. In ColorFlow:
    1. Import all Harmony curves. See Importing a Harmony print calibration curve. Don't select Show in Prinergy Print Curves for any of the imported curves.
  2. In Prinergy Administrator:
    1. From the Tools menu, select Migrate Process Template Curves.

See also Migrating Process Template Curves.
    2. Click OK.
    3. When the Curve Migration Complete message appears, click OK.
  3. (Optional) Check the migration in Workshop Process Template Editor:
    1. Open any screened output process template for editing.
    2. Open the Calibration and Screening panel.
    3. Confirm that Curve Source: ColorFlow Current State is selected.
Note: If Curve Source: Harmony remains selected, the print curve and/or plate curve were not successfully imported into ColorFlow in Step 1. The process template will continue to work with Harmony curves.
    4. Click the Print Curve list control. See that all Print Curves used in any migrated process template appear in the list.
    5. Click the Plate Curve list control. See that all Plate Curves used in any migrated process template appear in the list.
    6. Close the process template without saving.

Notes on the Curve Migration Tool

You must first import your existing Harmony database into ColorFlow before you run the migration tool in Prinergy Administrator. Launch ColorFlow and go to the Harmony Import section of either the Plate Curve or Print Curve tabs. Click the Import... button and locate the active Harmony database, which is named Calcurve.hmy. ColorFlow knows where to find the Calcurve.hmy file and will take you directly to the share (Harmony$) containing the database.

You can choose to select individual curves or all curves for import. You can repeat the import process any number of times, if you wish to import curves selectively. Once the Harmony curves have been imported, go to Prinergy Administrator on the Prinergy server and choose Tools / Migrate Process Template Curves... and press the OK button. The migration utility will look through all your Output Process Templates, and if it finds an imported ColorFlow curve matching the previous Harmony curve, it will switch the curve to the ColorFlow curve.

A nice feature is that the Show in Prinergy checkbox will become selected for any matching ColorFlow curve. This is a useful feature, because any imported curves that are not checked must be redundant and not referenced in any Process Template. This will allow you to identify and remove out-of-date curves, which reduces the size of your database and makes it more efficient.

The migration utility writes a log file to C:\Prinergy\CreoAraxi\System\log\MigrateProcessTemplateCurves.log.
