Recommendations

  • If you are using Pandora 2.5 or later, Kodak recommends creating populated portable job ticket format (PJTF) Kodak Prinergy layout plans or 1-up flat PDF or PostScript files.
  • You must output a composite PJTF file or flat PDF or PostScript file.

Rules to follow when creating Pandora layout plans for Prinergy Evo:

  • The PDF pages must be in a folder on a shared network volume of your Prinergy Evo server computer (or a location where Prinergy Evo server computer has administrator access). Kodak recommends the shared JobData folder.
  • When creating a layout plan, Pandora also automatically creates a marks PDF file.

Assumptions
Before creating layout plans in Pandora 2.5 or later for submission to Prinergy Evo, ensure that the following conditions have been met:

  • The Pandora press sheets have already been configured and are available for selection.
  • The Pandora layout templates have been created and are available for selection.
  • All source files are in PDF file format, unless you are submitting flat PDF or PostScript files. Prinergy Evo software does not support mixed PostScript layout plans with links to PS, EPS, or DCS files.
  • All source PDF files must be on the Prinergy Evo server computer or on a server to which Prinergy Evo software has read, write, and modify access and where the file's folder is mapped or mounted on the Prinergy Evo server computer.
  • All page and sheet geometry has been set up and defined in Pandora or you have defined the page and sheet geometry using the Prinergy Geometry Editor plug-in.
  • Marks files used in the Pandora are already in the Pandora marks folder.
  • If you are submitting your PJTF file to a hot folder, you must submit both the PJTF and the Marks.pdf to the hot folder at the same time.
  • If submitting your PJTF or JDF file to a Template Palette in Prinergy Evo, submit only the PJTF file. You do not need to submit the separate Marks.pdf.
