  1. If the ShopMap palette is not currently shown, select Window > Show ShopMap Palette.
  2. On the ShopMap palette, click Equipment.
  3. Click the Output Device tab.
  4. Select the output device's nickname from the list. (Do not select the profile below the nickname.)
  5. Scroll down to Punch Location.
  6. Click the Film or Plate tab (that is, the media type you need to calibrate for that device).
Note: A red button indicates that this resource has not yet been calibrated. A green check mark indicates that the resource has been calibrated.
  7. As needed, click the red button beside the film or plate size you want to calibrate.
  8. In the Punch Location dialog box, select the measurement units you want to use for the punch coordinates.
  9. Click Output Test.
  10. When the punch test is output, examine the result to determine where the punch is located on the media.
  11. In the X and Y boxes, type the desired coordinates for the center of the punch hole.
  12. To output another punch test to verify the calibration, click Check.
The resulting image has a large > that points to the center of the punch.
  13. If the punch location is still incorrect, repeat steps 7-12 as needed. When you are satisfied with the calibration, click Save.
A green check mark now appears on the ShopMap palette next to the calibrated film or plate, indicating that you have calibrated this resource. If you need to change the calibration at a later time, you can click the green check mark button to reopen the Calibration dialog box.
If the film or plate you have calibrated is already in the job, the display in the layout view is updated to reflect the calibration.
