Kodak Prinergy VPS+ provides two different modes of operation, Commercial and Packaging, to suit different quality control and production requirements. Which Menu items and which Toolbar Icons are visible depends on which mode you are in.
Modes can be switched in Preferences.
To access Preferences, (Mac) select the Prinergy VPS+ > Preferences... menu or press keyboard shortcut CMD+"," or (Windows) select Edit > Preferences... menu or press Shift+p.
Commercial Mode is the default User Mode and provides a simplified interface familiar to VPS Classic users. Commercial mode is primarily for viewing impositions for commercial offset quality control. Only Commercial Mode allows front and back viewing of impositions/layouts, with an ability to view imposition information, page edges, page numbers and type safety areas,
.Packaging Mode v9.6 is primarily for creation of flexographic plate layouts, and also provides a host of additional tools for proofing and reformatting VPS, LEN and TIFF files.
VPS and TIFF files can be recalibrated, descreened, scaled or combined into a raster PDF for import into step-and-repeat applications like Pandora.
All operations can be automated by use of Hot Folders.
There are additional features for creating and viewing seamless layouts for in-the-round or plate-on-sleeve imaging, and features for creating slug-based layouts for corrugated flexo printing.
