To make it easier to view the art that you are placing in relation to the die, select View > Show Artwork as Keylines.
The Geometry palette provides the most precise way to move objects in a layout. Make sure that only the objects you want to move are selected—you can tell which items are selected by the handles that appear on the selected items.
