Digital Job Ticket Editor presets 

Note: To use the Digital Job Ticket Editor or the new presets feature, JDF-enabled digital devices must be added via the Setup software. Any digital device added via Managed Connections in Prinergy Administrator (UADM) will be treated as a legacy-type device and digital output to such devices will be performed via the legacy method in which you can only select the number of copies and assign a JDF job ticket, but cannot edit this job ticket.

This release introduces presets—a named collection of settings defined in the Digital Job Ticket Editor that you can save and reuse at a later time. After you finish defining the settings in the Digital Job Ticket Editor, click  (located on the right of the Preset box), and select Save As to create a preset of these settings.

You can create presets, change them, rename and delete them. You can also reload the last-saved settings of a preset from the Prinergy server. This is extremely useful when more than one clients are using the same presets at the same time.

Notes:

  • Presets are not availble in Device Track.
  • The asterisk character ‘*’ cannot be used in a preset name.
  • Double spaces or more result in one space in a preset name.
  • The collection of presets are part of the Prinergy System Backup & Restore procedure.

Using Output ICC Profile for color management in the Digital Job Ticket Editor

Note: To use the Digital Job Ticket Editor or the new presets feature, JDF-enabled digital devices must be added via the Setup software. Any digital device added via Managed Connections in Prinergy Administrator (UADM) will be treated as a legacy-type device and digital output to such devices will be performed via the legacy method in which you can only select the number of copies and assign a JDF job ticket, but cannot edit this job ticket.

You can now perform color management when you submit a digital job to your digital device, by selecting the appropriate ICC profile in the Output Profile setting in the Substrate tab of the Digital Job Ticket Editor.

To use this setting, you must first perform the following three required setup steps:

  1. Load valid CMYK ICC profiles into the correct location on the Prinergy server. Add your ICC profiles to C:\Prinergy\CreoAraxi\Data\ICC-Profiles\Printer\Digital Output\. In the Digital Output folder, you can create sub-folders to organize your profiles in logical groups (such as, device type or name). The Output Profile list, displayed on the Substrate tab of the Job Ticket Editor, will reflect this hierarchy. In each sub-folder, the profiles are displayed in an alphanumeric order.  It is your responsibility to ensure that only valid CMYK ICC profiles are placed in the Digital Output folder.
  2. If required, set the Source or DeviceLink Profile setting in the PublishFile ColorMgmt On process template to the ICC Profile typically used as the PCO during the refine stage.
  3. If desired, load any Color Libraries (color databases) into the PublishFile ColorMgmt On process template, so that they can be used if spot colors need to be converted to process during output.

The color management of pages occurs in two stages. Stage one, which corresponds to the Refine process in Prinergy, takes all L*a*b, RGB, and tagged CMYK objects and converts them to a standard CMYK space known as the Primary Color Output (PCO). Stage two, which occurs after the job has been submitted from the Digital Job Ticket Editor, takes the CMYK PDF from stage one and converts it to the destination space using the ICC profile selected in the Output Profile setting in the Substrate tab of the Digital Job Ticket Editor.

The Digital Job Ticket Editor uses the PublishFile ColorMgmt On process template, which has color management activated, when digital jobs are submitted with a selected ICC Profile in the Output Profile setting.
The ‘PublishFile’ process template, which has color management disabled, is used when digital jobs are submitted with None selected in the Output Profile setting.

Color management via the Digital Job Ticker Editor can be performed only on refined data, that is, elements in the Pages, Page Sets, or Imposition Plans sections of Workshop. If you submit a job from the Input Files section, the Output Profile setting is not available in the Job Ticket Editor.

Notes:

  • The selection of the ICC profile is not available in Device Track.
  • The selection of the ICC profile cannot be controlled through RBA.
  • The ICC profile selected in the Substrates tab in the Job Ticket Editor is applied to the entire job, not to individual substrates. Jobs requiring multiple ICC profiles, need to be submitted as multiple jobs.
  • If a DeviceLink profile is used during the refine process, the PCO must still be set in the Refine profile, so color management can be used in the Job Ticket Editor.
  • In the event that spot colors are converted to process after processing through the Digital Job Ticket Editor, the Perceptual rendering intent will be used.

New license: Digital JDF Bi-directional Communication 

Digital JDF Bi-directional Communication is a license that provides the Prinergy user with a suite of new options supporting JDF communication to Digital Front End (DFE). This suite includes Setup, Digital Job Ticket Editor and Device Track.

Setup

The DFE hosts a wide variety of information from the screening process, to substrates, to paper handling, and in some cases inline finishing. Setup offers the ability to read Device Capability (DevCap) information from digital press front ends and apply it to Prinergy Workflow allowing you to control, process, publish and track to documents completion. For presses that are supported in Prinergy Workflow 8.1 with Digital JDF Bi-directional Communication, connections must be configured through the Setup application. Digital Submit and Digital Direct connections made with the older method through the Prinergy Administrator (UADM) will continue to work as-is, but will not take advantage of the new features available with Digital JDF Bi-directional Communication. For details about which digital press models are supported with the new connectivity, see Supported digital presses in the Prinergy Workflow 8.1 Release Notes.

Digital Job Ticket Editor

Digital jobs (in the Input File, Page Set, and Signature levels) are submitted in Workshop after their settings are defined in the Digital Job Ticket Editor. When Prinergy servers connect to a digital device via Setup, the device communicates its capabilities in JMF format. The values for the different parameters are updated in the Setup application per device, and are reflected in the job ticket options (Digital Job Ticket Editor). The options in the Digital Job Ticket Editor are based on the capabilities of the selected device. The new JDF/JMF connectivity method enables you to change the job settings in Prinergy's Digital Job Ticket Editor based on the available options of the connected digital device. 

Device Track

Device Track provides a view of all your digital devices. Digital documents that have been submitted via Prinergy Workflow or third-party solutions can be tracked from process to completion. Digital submissions can also be edited via Device Track, with the limitation that Digital Job Ticket Editor presets and ICC profile selection cannot be changed If a document needs to be re-submitted, or was not targeted to a digital device; you can access the Digital Job Ticket Editor to change DevCap properties and submit from Device Track, without having to resubmit the output from Prinergy Workshop.

Preimpostazioni Digital Job Ticket Editor 

Nota: Per utilizzare Digital Job Ticket Editor o la nuova funzione di preimpostazioni, i dispositivi digitali abilitati JDF devono essere aggiunti tramite il software di Configurazione. Qualsiasi dispositivo digitale aggiunto tramite connessione gestita in Prinergy Administrator (UADM) sarà trattato come un dispositivo esistente e l’output digitale in tali dispositivi sarà eseguito tramite il metodo precedente in cui è possibile selezionare solo il numero di copie e assegnare un job ticket JDF, ma non sarà possibile modificare tale job ticket.

Tale versione introduce le preimpostazioni, una raccolta di impostazioni definite nel Digital Job Ticket Editor che possono essere salvate e riutilizzate in un momento successivo. Al termine della definizione delle impostazioni nel Digital Job Ticket Editor, fare clic su Image Removed (a destra della casella Preimpostazione), e selezionare Salva come per creare una preimpostazione di tali impostazioni.

È possibile creare, modificare, rinominare e eliminare le preimpostazioni. È anche possibile ricaricare le ultime impostazioni salvate di una preimpostazione dal server Prinergy. Si tratta di un aspetto estremamente utile quando più client utilizzano le stesse preimpostazioni nello stesso momento.

Note:

  • Le preimpostazioni non sono disponibili in Device Track.
  • L’asterisco ‘*’ non è ammesso nel nome di una preimpostazione.
  • Doppi spazi o spazi multipli vengono salvati come un solo spazio nel nome di una preimpostazione.
  • La raccolta delle preimpostazioni è parte della procedura di ripristino e del backup & di sistema.

Utilizzare il profilo ICC di Output per la gestione dei colori in Digital Job Ticket Editor

Nota: Per utilizzare Digital Job Ticket Editor o la nuova funzione di preimpostazioni, i dispositivi digitali abilitati JDF devono essere aggiunti tramite il software di Configurazione. Qualsiasi dispositivo digitale aggiunto tramite connessione gestita in Prinergy Administrator (UADM) sarà trattato come un dispositivo esistente e l’output digitale in tali dispositivi sarà eseguito tramite il metodo precedente in cui è possibile selezionare solo il numero di copie e assegnare un job ticket JDF, ma non sarà possibile modificare tale job ticket.

È ora possibile eseguire la gestione del colore quando si invia un processo digitale al dispositivo digitale, selezionando il profilo ICC appropriato nella impostazione Output Profile (Profilo di output) nella scheda Substrate (Substrato) del Digital Job Ticket Editor.

Per utilizzare tale impostazione, è necessario eseguire primariamente le tre seguenti fasi di configurazione richieste:

  1. Caricare profili ICC di CMYK nella posizione corretta sul server Prinergy. Aggiungere i profili ICC in C:\Prinergy\CreoAraxi\Data\ICC-Profiles\Printer\Digital Output\. nella cartella Digital Output, è possibile creare sottocartelle per organizzare i profili in gruppi logici (ad esempio, per tipo di dispositivo o nome). La lista Profilo di output, visualizzata nella finestra Substrato del Job Ticket Editor, rispecchierà tale gerarchia. In ciascuna sottocartella, i profili sono visualizzati in un ordine alfanumerico. È responsabilità dell’utente verificare che nella cartella Digital Output siano presenti solo profili ICC di CMYK validi.
  2. Se necessario, impostare il Profilo di origine o DeviceLink nel modello del processo PublishFile ColorMgmt On sul profilo ICC solitamente utilizzato come PCO durante la fase di rifinitura.
  3. Se desiderato, caricare qualsiasi libreria colori (database di colori) nel modello del processo PublishFile ColorMgmt On in modo da poterle utilizzare qualora sia necessario convertite le tinte piatte nel processo durante l’output.

La gestione del colore delle pagine avviene in due fasi. Nella prima fase, che corrisponde al processo di rifinitura in Prinergy, tutti gli oggetti L*a*b, RGB e CMYK contrassegnati vengono convertiti in un spazio CMYK standard noto come PCO (Primary Color Output). Nella seconda fase, che si verifica una volta inviato il processo dal Digital Job Ticket Editor, il PDF CMYK della prima fase viene convertito nello spazio di destinazione utilizzando il profilo ICC selezionato nell'impostazione Output Profile (Profilo di output) nella scheda Substrate (Substrato)del Digital Job Ticket Editor.

Il Digital Job Ticket Editor utilizza il modello di processo PublishFile ColorMgmt On, con la gestione del colore attivata, quando i processi digitali vengono inviati con un profilo ICC selezionato nell'impostazione Output Profile (Profilo di output).
Il modello di processo PublishFile, con la gestione del colore disattivata, viene utilizzato quando i processi digitali vengono inviati con l'opzione None (Nessuno) selezionata nell'impostazione Output Profile (Profilo di output).

La gestione del colore tramite il Digital Job Ticker Editor può essere eseguita solo sui dati rifiniti, ossia gli elementi nelle sezioni Pages (Pagine), Page Sets (Set di pagine) o Imposition Plans (Piani di imposizione) di Workshop. Se si invia un processo dalla sezione Input Files (File di input), l'impostazione Output Profile (Profilo di output) non è disponibile nel Job Ticket Editor.

Note:

  • La selezione del profilo ICC non è disponibile in Device Track.
  • La selezione del profilo ICC non può essere gestita tramite RBA.
  • Il profilo ICC selezionato nella finestra Substrati nel Job Ticket Editor è applicato all’intero processo, non ai singoli substrati. I processi che necessitano di diversi profili ICC devono essere inseriti come processi multipli.
  • Se viene utilizzato un profilo DeviceLink durante il processo di rifinitura, il PCO deve restare impostato nel profilo di rifinitura, quindi sarà possibile utilizzare la gestione dei colori nel Job Ticket Editor.
  • Nel caso in cui le tinte piatte siano convertite nel processo dopo l’elaborazione tramite Digital Job Ticket Editor, sarà utilizzato il tentativo di rendering percettivo.

Nuova licenza: Comunicazione bidirezionale JDF digitale 

La comunicazione bidirezionale JDF digitale è una licenza che offre all’utente Prinergy una serie di nuove opzioni che supportano la comunicazione JDF nel Digital Front End (DFE). La serie comprende Configurazione, Digital Job Ticket Editor e Device Track.

Configurazione

Il DFE ospita un’ampia gamma di informazioni dal processo di retinatura ai substrati, alla gestione della carta e, in alcuni casi, finitura in linea. La Configurazione offre la capacità di leggere le informazioni di Device Capability (DevCap) dai front-end della stampante digitale e applicarle a Prinergy Workflow, consentendovi di controllare, elaborare, pubblicare e tenere traccia fino al completamento dei documenti. Per le stampanti supportate in Prinergy Workflow 8.1 con comunicazione bidirezionale JDF digitale, le connessioni devono essere configurate tramite l’applicazione di Configurazione. Le connessioni Digital Submit e Digital Direct realizzate con il precedente metodo tramite Prinergy Administrator (UADM) continueranno a funzionare, ma non potranno avvalersi delle nuove funzioni disponibili con la comunicazione bidirezionale JDF digitale. 

Digital Job Ticket Editor

I processi digitali (nei livelli File di input, Set di pagine e segnatura) sono inviati nel Workshop dopo averne definito le impostazioni in Digital Job Ticket Editor. Quando i server Prinergy si connettono a un dispositivo digitale tramite Configurazione, il servizio comunica le sue funzionalità in formato JMF. I valori per i parametri differenti vengono aggiornati nell'applicazione Configurazione di ogni dispositivo e si riflettono nelle opzioni del ticket processi (Digital Job Ticket Editor). Le opzioni in Digital Job Ticket Editor si basano sulle capacità del dispositivo selezionato. Il nuovo metodo di connettività bidirezionale JDF digitale consente di modificare le impostazioni del processo in Prinergy e Digital Job Ticket Editor in base alle opzioni disponibili del dispositivo digitale connesso. 

Device Track

Device Track offre una panoramica di tutti i propri dispositivi digitali. I documenti digitali che sono stati inviati tramite Prinergy Workflow o soluzioni di terze parti possono essere tracciati dall’elaborazione al completamento. Gli invii digitali possono anch'essi essere modificati tramite Device Track, con il limite che le preimpostazioni del Digital Job Ticket Editor e la selezione del profilo ICC non possono essere modificate se un documento deve essere re-inviato, oppure non era indirizzato a un dispositivo digitale; è possibile accedere a Digital Job Ticket Editor per modificare le proprietà DevCap e inviare da Device Track, senza dover re-inviare l’output da Prinergy Workshop.

プリセットを作成、変更、名前変更、および削除できます。Prinergy サーバーから最後に保存したプリセットの設定を再ロードすることもできます。これは特に、複数のクライアントが同じプリセットを同時に使用している場合に便利です。

注意：

  • プリセットはデバイス モニターでは使用できません。
  • プリセット名ではアスタリスク文字（*）は使用できません。
  • プリセット名では 2 文字以上続く空白は 1 文字になります。
  • プリセットのコレクションは、Prinergy System のバックアップと復元の手順の一部です。

デジタル ジョブ チケット エディタのカラー マネジメントに対する出力用 ICC プロファイルの使用

［出力プロファイル］が［なし］の状態でデジタル ジョブが送信されるときには、カラー マネジメントが無効になっている PublishFile プロセス テンプレートが使用されます。

デジタル ジョブ チケット エディタを使用したカラー マネジメントは、リファインされたデータ、つまりワークショップの［ページ］、［ページ セット］、または［面付けプラン］の要素に対してのみ実行できます。［入力ファイル］セクションからジョブを送信する場合、ジョブ チケット エディタでは［出力プロファイル］設定を使用できません。

注意：

  • ICC プロファイルの選択は、デバイス モニターでは使用できません。
  • ICC プロファイルの選択は、RBA では制御できません。
  • ジョブ チケット エディタの［印刷材］タブで選択された ICC プロファイルは、個別の印刷材ではなくジョブ全体に適用されます。複数の ICC プロファイルを必要とするジョブは、複数のジョブとして送信する必要があります。
  • リファイン プロセス中に DeviceLink プロファイルが使用される場合は、そのリファイン プロセスで PCO も設定して、カラー マネジメントがジョブ チケット エディタで使用できるようにする必要があります。
  • デジタル ジョブ チケット エディタによる処理の後でスポット カラーがプロセスに変換されるイベントでは、知覚的レンダリング インテントが使用されます。

新しいライセンス：Digital JDF Bi-directional Communication 

Digital JDF Bi-directional Communicationというライセンスは、デジタル フロント エンド（DFE）との JDF 通信をサポートする一連の新しいオプションを Prinergy ユーザーに提供します。このオプションには、Setup、デジタル ジョブ チケット エディタ、およびデバイス モニターが含まれます。

Setup
