Create a hot folder, with color management turned off, to print a profile chart and to add white flood.

Requirements:

  • A Matchprint Inkjet proofer with white ink, such as an Epson Stylus Pro WT7900 printer
  • A media configuration with white ink enabled
  • An identified white level
  • Profile chart file that lacks content for white flood

The hot folder is configured to print input files with color management turned off. The file for the profile chart lacks content for white flood, but the settings for the hot folder add white flood to the proof of the profile chart. White flood prints only with white ink. By default, the software uses the white level setting from the media configuration that is selected for the hot folder, but you can change the white level. This custom white level is used only to print white flood for the hot folder; it does not affect the media configuration.

  1. In Proofer Viewer, select ConfigureHot Folders.
  2. Click New.
  3. Perform the following actions:
    1. In the Media Configuration list, select a media configuration with white ink enabled.
    2. In the Halftone Handling list, select None.
    3. Set the remaining options as desired, and click Next.
  4. On the ICC Settings tab, clear the Use ICC Profile Color Management check box.

Color management is turned off for the hot folder.

5. On the White Settings tab, perform the following actions:

a.  Select the Proofer white flood (for profiling only)check box.
b. In the White Level (%)box, type the amount of white ink that you want to use for white flood.

You determined the white level when you printed the White Level and Opacity Chart.

These settings instruct the proofer to use only the inkjet proofer white ink to print white flood with the profile chart.

6. Set the remaining options as desired.
7. Click Save.
8. Submit the profile chart to the hot folder, and print the chart.

White flood is added to the proof of the chart.
