You can include variable marks in an imposition plan and submit the imposition file to the system. When you apply a process template to a signature or layout that is based on the imposition file, the system executes the process template and populates the variable marks in the signature or layout. For a list of all supported variable marks, see Tell me more about variable marks. In Preps, use the $[xxxxx] variable marks. To make use of this feature, you must add the desired variable marks to the imposition plan—that is, job ticket—before you submit the imposition file. If you are creating a Mixed Files-PS template in Preps, print both a populated job ticket and a marks PostScript file (must be distilled to PDF).
