Prinergy ofrece dos opciones para la integración del software de imposición Preps: acceso completo e imposición automatizada. 

Opción de integración de acceso completo de Preps

Esta opción permite iniciar Preps desde Workshop y contar con todas las funciones del software Preps con licencia que posea (Preps Pro o Preps Plus, con licencia flotante o con mochila).
Con esta opción puede crear, editar y exportar imposiciones de Preps e importarlas a Prinergy para utilizarlas en un trabajo. Además, puede crear y editar plantillas de Preps. A un trabajo de Prinergy puede importar los siguientes archivos:

  • Archivos de trabajo de Preps 5.1 y posterior
  • Archivos PJTF y JDF
  • Archivos de marcas PostScript y PDF

En la siguiente descripción general se describe el flujo de trabajo de creación de imposición para la opción de integración de acceso completo de Preps.

  1. Agregue y procese los archivos de entrada y cree un conjunto de páginas.
  2. Abra Preps desde Prinergy y cree una imposición.
    Preps agregará una lista de ejecución de páginas en blanco basada en el conjunto de páginas de Prinergy.
  3. Cree o edite plantillas y, a continuación, agregue pliegos y defina un medio (un dispositivo).
  4. Imprima la imposición como nota de trabajo de Adobe o como archivo JDF.
    Cuando se guardan trabajos con archivos mixtos, Preps guarda la imposición como un archivo de nota de trabajo (.pjtf o .jdf). Las marcas se guardan como un archivo PostScript (.ps). Cuando se guarda como trabajo PDF, el JDF de Preps tiene montajes de marcas .pdf y las marcas se incrustan en el archivo PJTF. 
    Prinergy importa automáticamente la imposición y le asigna las páginas.

 

Opción de imposición automatizada

Con la opción de imposición automatizada, se puede:

  • Crear imposiciones en Prinergy a partir de plantillas de Preps existentes (sin abrir Preps). No es posible crear ni editar plantillas.
    Nota: Dado que la función de imposición automatizada no permite editar la plantilla antes de crear la imposición, en el cuadro de diálogo Nueva imposición solo estará disponible el botón Selección de pliego de Prinergy (pero no el botón Usar aplicación de imposición externa).
  • Importar los siguientes archivos originales de imposición en un trabajo de Prinergy sin tener que convertirlos primero a un formato que Prinergy pueda usar:
    • Archivos .job de Preps desde Preps o UpFront
    • Trabajos de Preps o parámetros de montaje JDF-MIS (formato de definición de trabajo-sistema de información de administración) creados en UpFront
    • JDF de Preps u otros parámetros de montaje de JDF (formato de definición de trabajo) desde un software compatible con Preps

Prinergy offers two options for integrating the Preps imposition software: Full Access and Automated Imposition. 

Full access Preps integration option

The full access option enables you to start Preps from within Workshop, and to have the full functionality of your licensed Preps (Preps Pro or Preps Plus, floating license or dongle).
With this option, you can create, edit, and export impositions from Preps and import them into Prinergy for use in Prinergy jobs. You can also create and edit a Preps template. You can import the following files into a Prinergy job:

  • Preps 5.1 and later job files
  • PJTF and JDF files
  • PostScript and PDF marks files

The following overview describes the imposition creation workflow for the full access Preps integration option.

  1. You add and process the input files and create a page set.
  2. You open Preps from within Prinergy and create an imposition.
    Preps adds a run list of blank pages based on the page set in Prinergy.
  3. You create or edit templates, and then add signatures and define a media (device).
  4. You print the imposition as an Adobe Job Ticket or a JDF file.
    When saving mixed-file jobs, Preps saves the imposition as a job ticket file (.pjtf or .jdf). The marks are saved as a PostScript file (.ps). When saving as a PDF job, the Preps JDF has .pdf mark flats, and the marks are embedded into the PJTF file. 
    Prinergy automatically imports the imposition and assigns the pages to the imposition.

Automated Imposition option

With the Automated Imposition option, you can:

  • Create impositions in Prinergy from existing Preps templates (without starting Preps). You cannot create or edit templates.
    Note: Because the Automated Imposition feature does not allow you to edit the template before creating the imposition, only the Prinergy Signature Selection button (not the Use External Imposition Application button) is available to you in the New Imposition dialog box.
  • Import the following raw imposition files into a Prinergy job, without having to first convert the files into a Prinergy-usable format:
    • Preps .job files from the Preps or UpFront software
    • Preps jobs or JDF-MIS (job definition format-management information system) stripping parameters created by the UpFront software
    • Preps JDF or other JDF (job definition format) stripping parameters from Prinergy-compatible software
