En QuarkXPress es posible configurar estilos de salida para los archivos PDF y PostScript, como compuesto grueso o separado fino.
Los estilos de salida facilitan la creación de archivos PostScript y PDF coherentes y ayudan a reducir errores a la hora de configurar el cuadro de diálogo Imprimir.

  1. En QuarkXPress, seleccione Editar > Estilos de salida.
  2. En la lista Verificación, seleccione Ninguna, PDF/X-1 o PDF/X-3.
  3. En las fichas Páginas, Metadatos e Hipervínculos, seleccione las opciones que desee.
  4. En la ficha Compresión:
    • Para imágenes en color y en escala de grises, en el cuadro Compresión, seleccione ZIP manual (8 bits) y, en el cuadro Resolución, seleccione 300.
    • Para imágenes monocromas, en el cuadro Compresión, seleccione CCITT G4 y en Resolución seleccione la opción Comprimir texto y gráficos lineales.
  5. En la ficha Color:
    1. En el seleccione Compuesto.
    2. En el cuadro de configuración, seleccione CMYK compuesto y colores planos o una configuración de color DeviceN similar. (Para acceder a las configuraciones de color en QuarkXPress, seleccione Editar > Configuraciones de color > Salida).
  6. En la ficha Fuentes, seleccione la opción Descargar todas las fuentes.
  7. En la ficha Marcas, en el cuadro Modo de marcas de registro, seleccione Centrada.
  8. En la ficha Sangrado,, seleccione 0,25 pulgadas.
  9. En la ficha Transparencia:
    1. Asegúrese de que la casilla Ignorar conversión de transparencia a tintas planas no esté marcada (obligatorio).
    2. En el cuadro Resolución de conversión de transparencias a tintas planas, seleccione 300 ppp. O bien,
      Si la calidad del trabajo requiere una resolución superior, seleccione 600 ppp. A continuación podrá seleccionar si desea conservar la resolución de 600 ppp de QuarkXPress o usar Prinergy (panel Optimizar) para reducir la imagen de 600 ppp a 300 ppp.
      Al conservar la resolución de 600 ppp de QuarkXPress se consigue un resultado de mejor calidad que si se usa Prinergy para reducir la resolución. El resultado con antialias de 300 ppp se procesa mejor que el resultado de 300 ppp que se obtiene de QuarkXPress.
  10. En la ficha OPI, seleccione las opciones que desee.
    Para un flujo de trabajo fino, seleccione la opción OPI Activo y no marque las casillas TIFF incluye imágenes, Baja resolución ni EPS incluye imágenes.
  11. En la ficha JDF, seleccione las opciones que desee.

In QuarkXPress, you can set up output styles for PDF and PostScript files, such as fat composite or thin separated.
Output styles make it easy to create consistent PostScript and PDF files and help to reduce errors when configuring the Print dialog box.

  1. In QuarkXPress, select Edit > Output Styles.
  2. In the Verification list, select None, PDF/X-1, or PDF/X-3.
  3. On the Pages, Metadata, and Hyperlinks tabs, select the options that you want.
  4. On the Compression tab:
    • For color and grayscale images, in the Compression box, select Manual ZIP (8-bit), and in the Resolution box, select 300.
    • For monochrome images, in the Compression box, select CCITT G4, and under Resolution, select the Compress Text and Line Art option.
  5. On the Color tab:
    1. In the Mode box, select Composite.
    2. In the Setup box, select Composite CMYK and Spot or a similar DeviceN color setup. (To access color setups in QuarkXPress, select Edit > Color Setups > Output).
  6. On the Fonts tab, select the Download all fonts option.
  7. On the Marks tab, in the Registration marks mode box, select Centered.
  8. On the Bleed tab, select 0.25 inch.
  9. On the Transparency tab:
    1. Make sure that the Ignore transparency flattening check box is cleared. (Required).
    2. In the Transparency flattening resolution box, select 300 dpi,
      OR
      If job quality requires higher resolution, select 600 dpi. You can then choose to either retain the 600 dpi resolution from QuarkXPress, or use Prinergy (Optimize pane) to downsample the 600 dpi image to 300 dpi.
      Retaining the 600 dpi resolution from QuarkXPress provides a better quality result than using Prinergy to downsample. The 300 dpi anti-aliased result will render better than the 300 dpi result that you get from QuarkXPress
  10. On the OPI tab, select the options that you want.
    For a thin workflow, select the OPI Active option, and do not select the TIFF Include Images, Low Resolution, and EPS Include Images options.
  11. On the JDF tab, select the options that you want.
