Two types of installation

Your copy of Preps software may be:

• Integrated with Prinergy Workflow software or Prinergy Evo software
• A standalone installation

Integrated installations

You do not need to perform the installation procedure on this page.

If your version of Preps 8.2 is integrated and supported with Kodak Prinergy Workflow 8.2, it will be automatically installed/updated in the Workshop directory when the installer is run on the client workstation. Preps 8.2 is also supported with Prinergy Evo 6.1.3 and later.

The templates, marks, resources, and printers folders will be located in the AraxiPreps volume on the Prinergy server. To convert legacy jobs and templates, run the Preps Template Migration Utility.

The PrepsPrinergy.cfg profile is used when launching Preps from Workshop. For information about modifying the configuration file settings, see Answer ID 72524 in your support portal (login required).

Standalone installations

Use the procedure on this page to install Preps independently of Prinergy Workflow Software on the client workstation.

The templates, marks, resources, and printers folders will be located locally. To convert legacy jobs and templates, run the Preps Template Migration Utility.

The default profile will be used when launching Preps from a standalone installation. To migrate configuration settings, run the Preps Migration Utility.

Important: Do not attempt to overwrite or install Preps on Prinergy Workflow Clients on the AraxiPreps share of a Prinergy Workflow server.

To install Preps software:

1. Log on to your computer as an administrator.
2. If an existing copy of the Preps software is already installed:
   1. Store a backup copy of the existing Preps installation folder in another location.
   2. Ensure that the software is not running when you start the installation.
3. Log on to Kodak Partner Place.
4. On the Partner Place home page, select Service & Support > Prepress Software Downloads.

5. Search for Preps 8.x downloads, and download the Preps 8.2.0 Installer for your operating system to your workstation.

6. Browse to the location where you stored the installer file and double-click it.
   The Installation Wizard appears. 

7. In the Installation Wizard, follow the instructions.
   Note: A computer restart may be required.
   Due to security settings, you may encounter an error message when installing Preps on a Mac OS 10.9 computer.

8. If you encounter the error message, perform these actions:
   1. In System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General, click the lock icon and enter the administrator's password to unlock the settings.
   2. Set Allow applications downloaded from to Anywhere.
9. If applicable, use the Migration Utility tool to copy previous configuration settings from a backed-up copy to the new installation folder.
   See Migrating from an earlier version of Preps for more details.
10. License your Preps  software in one of the following ways:

• Use a floating license provided by your Prinergy Workflow software, if available.
• Use the software licensing option.

Preps and Adobe software components

Preps 8.2 includes version 10 of the Adobe PDF Library software for reading, modifying, and writing PDF documents. To use the Adobe PDF Library instead of the Preps internal PDF engine, add this setting to your Preps Profile:
-Use_PPT_PDFLIB:YES

Para instalar o software Preps:

必要条件

8. エラー メッセージが表示された場合は、以下の操作を実行してください。

Wenn Ihre Version von Preps 8.2 in Kodak Prinergy Workflow 8.2 integriert ist und unterstützt wird, dann wird sie bei der Ausführung des Installationsprogramms auf der Client-Workstation automatisch im Workshop-Verzeichnis installiert/aktualisiert. Preps 8.2 wird auch von Prinergy Evo 6.1.3 und höher unterstützt.

Die Vorlagen, Marken, Ressourcen und Druckerordner befinden sich auf dem AraxiPreps-Laufwerk des Prinergy-Servers. Um ältere Aufträge und Vorlagen zu konvertieren, führen Sie dasPreps-Vorlagen-Migrations-Dienstprogrammaus.

Das PrepsPrinergy.cfg Profil wird beim Starten von Preps aus Workshop verwendet. Informationen zur Änderung der Konfigurationsdateieinstellungen finden Sie in der Antwort ID 72524 auf Ihrem Support-Portal (Anmeldung erforderlich).

Eigenständige Installationen

Nutzen Sie das auf dieser Seite beschriebene Verfahren, um Preps unabhängig von der Prinergy Workflow-Software auf der Client-Workstation zu installieren.

Die Vorlagen, Marken, Ressourcen und Druckerordner werden lokal gespeichert. Um ältere Aufträge und Vorlagen zu konvertieren, führen Sie das Preps-Vorlagen-Migrations-Dienstprogrammaus.

Beim Starten von Preps aus einer eigenständigen Installation wird das Standardprofil verwendet. Um Konfigurationseinstellungen zu migrieren, führen Sie dasPreps-Migrations-Dienstprogrammaus.

Wichtig: Versuchen Sie nicht, Preps auf Prinergy Workflow-Clients oder im AraxiPreps-Freigabeordner eines Prinergy Workflow-Servers zu überschreiben oder zu installieren.

So installieren Sie die Preps-Software:

1. Melden Sie sich bei Ihrem Computer als Administrator an.
2. Wenn bereits eine Version der Preps-Software installiert ist:
   1. Speichern Sie eine Sicherungskopie des vorhandenen Preps-Installationsordners an einem anderen Speicherort.
   2. Vergewissern Sie sich vor Beginn der Installation, dass die Software nicht ausgeführt wird.
3. Melden Sie sich bei Kodak Partner Place an.
4. Wählen Sie auf der Partner Place-Homepage Service und Support > Prepress Software-Downloads.

5. Suchen Sie nach Pandora 8.x-Downloads, und laden Sie das Installationsprogramm Pandora 8.2.0 für Ihr Betriebssystem auf Ihre Workstation herunter.

6. Navigieren Sie zu dem Verzeichnis, in dem die Installationsprogrammdatei gespeichert ist, und doppelklicken Sie darauf.
   Dann wird der Installationsassistent eingeblendet. 

7. Folgen Sie den Anweisungen im Installationsassistenten.
   Hinweis: Unter Umständen muss der Computer neu gestartet werden.
   Bei der Installation von Preps unter Mac OS 10.9 wird möglicherweise eine Fehlermeldung aufgrund von Sicherheitseinstellungen angezeigt.

8. Wird die Fehlermeldung angezeigt, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
   1. Klicken Sie unter Systemeinstellungen > Sicherheit und Datenschutz > Allgemein auf das Schlosssymbol, und geben Sie das Administratorpasswort ein, um die Einstellungen zu entsperren.
   2. Ändern Sie den Wert für Apps aus folgenden Quellen zulassen zu Überall.
9. Verwenden Sie ggf. dasTool „Migrations-Dienstprogramm“,um vorherige Konfigurationseinstellungen aus einer Sicherungskopie in den neuen Installationsordner zu kopieren.

10. Lizenzieren Sie Ihre Preps-Software wahlweise wie folgt:

• Verwenden Sie eine von Ihrer Prinergy Workflow-Software bereitgestellte Floating License (Netzwerklizenz), sofern verfügbar.
