  1. Choose Apple > System Preferences (macOS 12)or Apple > System Settings(macOS 13 and up).

  2. Click Users & Groups.

  3. Click the account whose settings you want to change.

  4. Click Login Options.

    5. Clear the Show fast user switching menu as <Full Name> check box

  5. Click the lock to prevent additional changes to the settings.

  6. Close the Users & Groups window.

    7. macOS 13 and up

  7. Open Terminal.

  8. Type the following command: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences MultipleSessionEnabled -bool false, then press the Enter key.

  9. Enter your system password.
