Additional Known limitations

Creating or Importing Preps Impositions with 500 or more Signatures is not supported (PREPS-16758)

As of Preps 9.x, you cannot use “SIG” at the beginning of file names used for EPS & PDF Custom Smart Marks. The “SIG” designation is reserved for Collation Marks and will not be recognized when creating Custom Smart Marks.

For EPS & PDF custom Smart Collation Marks, you need to add “SIG” to the beginning of the file name in order for Preps to recognize it as a Collation Mark. (PREPS-16747)

Solution:

  • Custom Smart Marks: Rename both the EPS and PDF (name not starting with “sig”). In Preps, link new EPS within current SMK.

  • Smart Collation Marks: Rename both the EPS and PDF (name starting with “sig”). In Preps, link new EPS within current SMK.

  • Update any existing templates with new SMK, as it also references EPS name. This can be done with a batch Find and Replace script.


Preps 9.0.3 and newer installs Profiles folder in a new location - Win Workstation ONLY

When Preps is launched from Workshop (integrated), a copy of the "PrepsPrinergy.cfg.template" profile is pushed to the local workstation and overwrites the "PrepsPrinergy.cfg" Profile. In previous versions of Preps, it was copied to the local installation folder of Preps.

As of Prinergy 9.0.2/Preps 9.0.3 the following is true:

  • Profiles folder is now located in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Kodak\Preps
  • Previous versions of Preps are not compatible with Prinergy 9.0.2 (Win ONLY)
  • All local custom profiles are accessed from this location.
  • Mac = Profile path did not change.


When you use "Odd" or "Even" keywords in the SmartMark Range field, the mark will be applied only for the first press run.

This happens for all marks when the mark anchor is anything except Gutter. See Common settings for SmartMarks.
Workaround: Add t: before the Range keyword. For example, t:odd or t:even.

If you add a new sheet while in template editing mode, you will no longer be in template editing mode.

You can still save as template. If you duplicate an existing press run you will remain in template editing mode.

When adding press runs to a job from a template, you cannot rename a signature after it has been edited.

Once you save the job for the first time you will be able to edit the name of a signature.

Preps mark preview limitation.

Textmarks placed too close to an adjacent page may get clipped on output. The mark will not appear clipped in Preps because Preps sandbox must preview the entire image.

Limitations supplémentaires connues

La création ou l'importation d'impositions Preps avec 500 signatures ou plus n'est pas prise en charge (PREPS-16758)

À partir de Preps 9.x, vous ne pouvez pas utiliser « SIG » au début des noms de fichiers utilisés pour  les repères intelligents personnalisés EPS et PDF . La désignation « SIG » est réservée aux repères de classement et ne sera pas reconnue lors de la création de repères intelligents personnalisés.

Pour les marques de classement intelligentes personnalisées EPS et PDF , vous devez ajouter « SIG » au début du nom de fichier pour que Preps le reconnaisse comme une marque de classement. (PREPS-16747)

Solution:

  • Marques intelligentes personnalisées : renommez les fichiers EPS et PDF (le nom ne commence pas par « sig »). Dans Preps, liez le nouveau fichier EPS au fichier SMK actuel.

  • Marques de classement intelligentes : renommez les fichiers EPS et PDF (nom commençant par « sig »). Dans Preps, liez le nouveau fichier EPS au fichier SMK actuel.

  • Mettez à jour tous les modèles existants avec le nouveau SMK, car il fait également référence au nom EPS. Cela peut être fait avec un script de recherche et de remplacement par lots.


Preps 9.0.3 et les versions plus récentes installent le dossier Profils dans un nouvel emplacement - Win Workstation UNIQUEMENT

Lorsque vous ajoutez des tirages à un travail à partir d'un modèle, vous ne pouvez pas renommer une signature après l'avoir modifiée.

Une fois que vous avez enregistré le travail pour la première fois, vous pourrez modifier le nom d'une signature.

Limitation de l'aperçu des notes préparatoires.

Les repères de texte placés trop près d'une page adjacente peuvent être tronqués lors de la sortie. Le repère n'apparaîtra pas tronqué dans Preps, car le sandbox de Preps doit prévisualiser l'image entière.

Quando você usa as palavras-chave "Ímpar" ou "Par" no campo Intervalo SmartMark, a marca será aplicada somente na primeira tiragem.

Marcadores de texto colocados muito próximos de uma página adjacente podem ser cortados na saída. A marca não aparecerá cortada no Preps porque o sandbox do Preps deve visualizar a imagem inteira.

Limitaciones adicionales conocidas

No se admite la creación o importación de imposiciones de Preps con 500 o más firmas (PREPS-16758)

A partir de Preps 9.x, no se puede utilizar “SIG” al comienzo de los nombres de archivo utilizados para  las marcas inteligentes personalizadas de EPS y PDF . La designación “SIG” está reservada para las marcas de intercalación y no se reconocerá al crear marcas inteligentes personalizadas.

Para las marcas de intercalación inteligentes personalizadas de EPS y PDF , debe agregar “SIG” al comienzo del nombre del archivo para que Preps lo reconozca como una marca de intercalación. (PREPS-16747)

Solución:

  • Marcas inteligentes personalizadas: cambie el nombre del EPS y del PDF (el nombre no debe comenzar con "sig"). En Preps, vincule el nuevo EPS dentro del SMK actual.

  • Marcas de intercalación inteligente: cambie el nombre del archivo EPS y del PDF (el nombre comienza con "sig"). En Preps, vincule el nuevo EPS dentro del SMK actual.

  • Actualice las plantillas existentes con el nuevo SMK, ya que también hace referencia al nombre EPS. Esto se puede hacer con un script de búsqueda y reemplazo por lotes.


Preps 9.0.3 y versiones posteriores instalan la carpeta Perfiles en una nueva ubicación ( SOLO Win Workstation)

Cuando se inicia Preps desde Workshop (integrado), se envía una copia del perfil "PrepsPrinergy.cfg.template" a la estación de trabajo local y se sobrescribe el perfil "PrepsPrinergy.cfg". En versiones anteriores de Preps, se copiaba a la carpeta de instalación local de Preps.

A partir de Prinergy 9.0.2/Preps 9.0.3 se cumple lo siguiente:

  • La carpeta de perfiles ahora se encuentra en C:\ Users \<nombre de usuario>\AppData\Roaming\Kodak\Preps
  • Las versiones anteriores de Preps no son compatibles con Prinergy 9.0.2 (SOLO Win)
  • Desde esta ubicación se accede a todos los perfiles personalizados locales.
  • Mac = La ruta del perfil no cambió.


Cuando utilice las palabras clave "Impar" o "Par" en el campo Rango SmartMark, la marca se aplicará solo para la primera tirada de impresión.

Esto sucede con todas las marcas cuando el ancla de marca es cualquier cosa excepto  Gutter . Consulta  Configuraciones comunes para SmartMarks .

Si agrega una nueva hoja mientras está en el modo de edición de plantilla, ya no estará en dicho modo.

Aún puedes guardar como plantilla. Si duplicas una tirada de impresión existente, permanecerás en el modo de edición de plantilla.

Al agregar tiradas de impresión a un trabajo desde una plantilla, no es posible cambiar el nombre de una signatura después de haberla editado.

Una vez que guarde el trabajo por primera vez, podrá editar el nombre de una firma.

Preps marca limitación de vista previa.

Las marcas de texto ubicadas demasiado cerca de una página adyacente pueden quedar recortadas en la salida. La marca no aparecerá recortada en Preps porque el entorno de pruebas de Preps debe previsualizar la imagen completa.
