A media configuration can be configured to emulate the substrate effects that may be seen on offset or flexographic presses.

● For offset press sheets, proofs can reproduce the press mottle and paper grain seen on some press sheets of certain paper types, such as Paper Type 3.
● For flexographic presses, proofs can emulate printing on corrugated cardboard.

1. In Proofer Viewer, from the Configure menu, select Media Configuration.
2. Select a media configuration, and click Edit.
3. In the Emulation list, select a paper type.
4. Click Settings to view or edit the emulation settings.
5. Click OK.
6. Click Save or Save As and save the modified media configuration under a new name.

Note: Changing a media configuration’s Emulation settings for a substrate effect will change how the media configuration reproduces color. For the best color control, create a custom ICC profile for the custom media configuration. Also process a test file to evaluate the results.
